Kristen and I use to work together for an after school program. She carries deep compassion and grace for others and I have always admired that in her. When we worked together, I knew she would make an incredible mother and wife.
Her and Robert have been trying to have children for awhile. The waiting and looking over all the options they could invest in seemed overwhelming and possibly not effective. The balance of trusting God, but also looking into modern medicine was something they prayed through and through.
They had peace about trying IVF, through the ups and downs, through the medicine, prayers, inviting others into their journey of infertility, they had a slight chance of getting pregnant. They did get pregnant. I believe it wasn't just modern medicine, but that the Lord was in control in it all. He ultimately created this little guy who is growing in Kristen's womb.
Life is a beautiful story. Life is never picture perfect or goes our way. Usually it never goes the way we imagined or intended, but we rejoice in our sufferings. "We rejoice because suffering produces endurance and endurance produces character and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us." - Romans 5:3-5
